Story 03

Devindi & Hashindra

Homecoming in the hills

Lace, mountain air and a terrace high above the valley. A homecoming that felt like a deep breath.

The story of Devindi & Hashindra.

Devindi and Hashindra's homecoming had a soft, calm mood, and we wanted the photographs to keep it. Devindi wore an ivory lace saree with a diamond necklace and carried blush roses. Hashindra wore a boutonniere to match.

We spent their portrait time on a white terrace above the hills, with green slopes falling away behind them. There was no rush. Devindi sat for a while in a white garden chair, raised her bouquet to the sky, smiled beside an old lamp post, and Hashindra kissed her forehead while she laughed.

Then we moved in close for the details: her smile and necklace, the lace against the roses, her ring on his lapel. Those small frames are often the ones couples come back to years later.

A homecoming is usually lighter than the wedding, and it is often where couples get their favourite portraits. Devindi and Hashindra's is a good example of why it is worth giving it the same care.
