Religious ceremonies, photographed with respect.
Pinkamas, dana, pirith, church and temple ceremonies and poruwa rituals, covered quietly and completely.
Quiet, and respectful.
Religious ceremonies ask for a different kind of attention. There are moments when the camera should be close and moments when it should step back entirely. We know the order and meaning of Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and Muslim rituals, and we work quietly, without flash at the wrong moment and without getting between the people and the ceremony.
We have photographed a golden jubilee pinkama, with devotees walking to the stupa at dusk under ceremonial umbrellas and the stupa lit white against the night. We also cover dana for the monks, all-night pirith, almsgiving in memory of loved ones, church services, kovil poojas, and the poruwa and oil lamp rituals at weddings.

From our religious ceremonies work.
For families, temples and churches.
Families book us to keep a record of a dana or a pirith ceremony at home. Temples and churches book us for anniversaries, jubilees and special services. Either way, you receive a complete, carefully edited set of photographs in an online gallery, and a film if you'd like one, so people who couldn't be there can share in it.
We cover ceremonies in Colombo, Kandy and across Sri Lanka, including early mornings and all-night events.
Questions
Good to know.
Which ceremonies do you photograph?
Pinkamas, dana, pirith, almsgivings, church services, temple and kovil ceremonies, and the religious rituals within weddings, such as the poruwa and the lighting of the oil lamp.
Will photography disturb the ceremony?
No. We work quietly and respectfully, avoid flash during rituals, and agree in advance with you and the clergy where we can and can't stand.
Do you cover all-night pirith or early-morning dana?
Yes. Tell us the timings and we'll plan the coverage around them.
Can you film the ceremony?
Yes. We can film the ceremony as well as photograph it, so family members who couldn't attend can watch it.
